Artistic Statement
When I was 10, my parents threw my brother and I into a 4-week long summer theater workshop to get us out of the house. During the workshop, I was lucky enough to be cast as Winthrop in The Music Man. That show was the catalyst starting my passion for theater and ever since then I’ve been pursuing acting. Over the years, I’ve grown to love more than just musicals. I'm a massive fan of Shakespeare, I love stage combat, and I’ve enjoyed every style of theater I’ve been cast in.
As I’ve grown into the performing arts, I’ve made it my goal to pursue new things. I look for roles at theaters I’ve never been to, I try new mediums I’ve never experienced, and I meet new people whom I’ve never met before. I’ve seen just how vibrant and diverse theater is. There are no two directors who work the same, and there are no two actors who approach their craft the same. Through my hunt for diversity of experience, I have been gaining insight into how the professional world works. I strive to learn and grow. I seek out feedback and advice from my co-actors and directors, with the goal of becoming a better actor.
I take every performance as not only an opportunity to give the audience a meaningful experience, but as a learning opportunity to discover something new. Every time I step foot on the stage I find something new about my character and about myself. I use these experiences to take my acting to a new level, and to deepen the meaning behind my work.
